Dear Colleague,
as we highly value your knowledge and experience as a practitioner and/or researcher, we would like to invite you to contribute to our research on the topic of instrumental music teaching and learning in early childhood.
You can do so by completing this survey.
With a series of questions, we want to learn how you, as a practitioner and/or researcher, think about learning how to play a musical instrument in early childhood.
Please, note that:
- here, we limit “early childhood” to children aged 5 to 7 years.
- with “musical instrument”, we refer to traditional acoustic instruments or child-friendly versions of it (cf. smaller violins, cellos, …), not Orff instruments, boom whackers, …
A first set of questions probes your opinion about learning how to play a musical instrument in early childhood. Completing this set of questions takes about 30-60 min.
Please,
- before answering, read carefully the questions and the explanation (when provided).
- be elaborate when answering the questions. In that way, we learn the most from your insights.
- be aware that there are no good, bad, or socially desirable answers
A second set of questions helps us get to know your professional background. This set takes about 10 min.
We would like to thank you very much for completing this survey!
In doing so, you are helping us tremendously to conduct our research on instrumental music teaching and learning in early childhood.
